THREE SISTERS: SUBTLE, VAGUE & AMBIGUOUS
The Writer (#MainCharacterEnergy) refuses to write something autobiographical: her life is just not interesting enough. Instead, she is laboring on a story about a young girl named Trouble who travels different worlds in search of one where she might belong. Luckily, The Writer is aided by her ferocious muses Subtle, Vague and Ambiguous (sisters, not triplets), who provoke, test, torment and ultimately save her and Trouble.
THREE SISTERS explores stories as a site of struggle, and rebels against tropes of the triumphant model minority/white savior/noble savage in order to ask: Why do we label those who speak out against structural injustices as ‘troublemakers’? How do we forge genuine ‘sisterhood’ and solidarity? This metatheatrical dark comedy features a stellar cast (Peyvand Sadeghian, Sigi Moonlight, Bartel Jespers, Elisabeth Gunawan), our signature razor-sharp bouffonesque performance and grotesque humour.
